Hi All.

I have a Disco 3 and think I may need a full diagnostic on it,no major problems, but annoying.

ie Parking sensors have a mind of there own.
Fuel cover sometimes wont open.
Mirrors move position when left overnight or a few hours!

I got in contact with Hunters at Derby and the lady on the end of the phone said a full diagnostic would be £99 inc vat,not too bad I thought.

Later when my Mrs tried to book it in the gentleman on the phone said, yes it's £99,but for each check. wtf!! Total £297!!!!
Doesn't a full diagnostic means check everything, surely a simple hook up to a laptop would show any problems???

Anyway can anyone offer any advice on the matter or a garage that knows what they're doing without ripping the linings out your pockets.

THANKS in advance for any help.

Fuel cover on mine is 100% manual, there are only 3 bits of plastic to it and they cost less than £10 from Land Rover, so, I'd save yourself any money there and buy the new parts and replace - I did mine in Hunters car park after buying the bits! (no tools required to re-fit, you might need a flat blade screw driver to help the old bits out)

For the other parts, I'd give Harvey Taylors a ring and have a chat to Ian...

Welcome - Harvey Taylor Vehicle Management

I've used them a few times a number of years ago, seem like they know there stuff, but, i was dealing with D2's and series at the time, i've never taken my D3 there. Worth a call and a chat - see if they are LR approved or just a LR specialist.

Otherwise, have a chat with 200tdiayre on here - he's based in Derbyshire, they have an impressive workshop and have a D3 they maintain, they won't be LR approved, they're mainly agricultural, but, they may have some diagnostics you can use to look at the faults

These might be a bit far away but have heard good reports about them so might be worth a phone call, they do series to disco 4 so should be able to help

I dont think you will find anyone other than a main deaer who is Landrover approved.
And most approved will be charging over £100 per hour.

Thanks Guys,

Lets forget the approved bit eh:bump2:

Just want some skilled person to sort a few minor problems.

Thanks again,

Cavendish Land Rover at Storforth Lane Ind Estate, Chesterfield are very very good. I've been using them for my Defender for a few years. A family member with a FL2 also uses them.

They have 2 premises there, one is a parts shop and the other is the workshop. The shop generally stocks Britpart, but whenever the workshop is about to replace any parts on my 110 I always discuss which brand to go with as they can order other brands in. They have even done bodywork repair for me.

Shop 01246 231156
