Taken from the Treadlightly page on Faceache:
Treadlightly Volunteers needed for a working party near Sheffield on Friday 16th August. The work will be taking place on Houndkirk Road, a route running from Fox Houses near Hathersage to Ringinglow, near Sheffield.
The work will be filling in puddles, digging ditches and moving some boulders that were put in to stop vehicles going into a stream, but which can now be removed.
It's organised with Sheffield Council who have always been very fair minded towards our hobby (see their comments on the original Chapel Gate eTRO) so I hope we can get a good turnout to show we're willing to 'do our bit' despite problems with the Peak District National Park Authority.
If you'd like to attend, please could you email Clare on vehicle_volunteers@hotmail.co.uk so she can get a feel for numbers. At the moment She has only three volunteers (due to holidays and the Roych decision) so she is quite desperate!
We have to bring our own equipment: stout boots, waterproofs and work gloves but also hand tools - spades, rakes etc, as Sheffield don't have spare tools for volunteers.
Also, if you have a vehicle with a winch and would like to get it dirty moving the boulders, that would be much appreciated! Any volunteers with a Wacker Plate (for flattening down bunds) would similarly be extremely welcome.
The plan is to meet at the Ringinglow (Sheffield) end of the route at 10am and work until about 4pm
Clare Griffin would be very grateful and somebody get photos!
If i was in the country i would going to do my bit, unfortunately im not so i thought maybe some of you could be free?
