Hi all I have a 2006 freelander 1 hse with the 3 spoke alloys, I want to change to something different.

I like the 18 inch sport alloys but I also fancy something chunky which I assume I'd have to drop to 16 inch to put the chunkier tyre on ?

Any ideas or suggestions ?

Will 195 80 15 fit straight on mine ? I think I've added a pic of them ? Will they be good for a little off reading and the snow ?

What are the best size wheels for light off roading ? To fit decent tyres to ? Will I have any issues with the diffs etc as I've been warned about swapping wheels and tyres as it causes problems ? I'm new so please bear with me

Cheers gav

Tyres will, but depends how old the alloys are. You'll need alloys from 2001 + due to you'r Freelander having larger front brakes.

Try a set of Steel wheels. The originals are 15" rim. Or you can get steel modulars now in 16".

What year freelander are the 15s off? The wheels themselves won't make a difference, that's down to the tyres.

I'm not sure I need to find out they are on eBay.

Other than the wheel size what will the main difference be ?

Will I actually benefit by having smaller alloys but bigger tyres ?

Just remember what your GVW is.

My 2006 HSE is rated at 2505kg and Land Rover don't recommend fitting 15" steel wheels

Check your handbook.

I won't put steel wheels on I just want to know what the best size alloy / tyre is for a bit of off road and snow etc

So basically I'm better off dropping to a 16 inch alloy but with a chunkier tyre ?

Appreciate the advice I'm new and learning all this as I go lol.
