hi guy's, girls

have a wading kit fitted, but have a couple of questions queries

do you have to route the breather kits pipe work to the outside of the car ie up the snorkel as described in instructions?

could i not install/route all pipework through internals's of car to come out up the bulkhead? maybe behing the seats as i think the pipework looks crap cable tied to the nice new mantec snorkel just purchased

am i being dumb & just missing the point

open to anybodys thoughts

how deep are yu going to go?

if not up to bonnet level just terminate at the top of the bonnet.
In my disco I have just terminated it so that it hooks over the front lip of the bulkhead. I I go into water up to the top of the bonnet, I will have other problems than axle breathers.

What about having all the breathers terminate into one pipe and the run that pipe up the inside of the snorkle and then out the top hidden away out of sight?

I'm sure I've seen pictures of that. Where the tubes are run up to the bulkhead and joined into one, then that one through a small drilled hole in the air inlet tube under the bonnet.

If you do that though, you've got to make sure its all airtight and sealed, otherwise it defeats the purpose of have a snorkel in the first place.

What's with these breather kits? Fenders have breathers as standard don't they? And if they're not high enough for you just inside the bonnet surely all you need is a bit more pipe?

They should, more correctly, be called breather extension kits, however most peeps replace some or all of the pipes, particularly the rear axle pipe. To fit into the snorkle, it is easy to do with a bulkhead adapter, such as this....
