That was quite interesting. It is a fair point, why do some people think it is acceptable to give abuse to somebody who is doing nothing wrong?
The statistics are really shocking in so far as access to rights of way go. I had to chuckle at the comment that some footpaths/bridleways are no longer useable because they have become too overgrown by lack of use.
I suppose overall it is just another case of "situation normal".

just goes to show what a bit of civility will do, along with simple things like removing your helmet (or even sunglasses), the person you are talking to feels more at ease as you are showing yourself to be a human rather than a helmet clad biker.
have tried it a few times and it does seem to make the situation easier.
