Hi

As always I find myself needing the help off the experts (you guys)

When driving my 97 disco I have developed a vibration

It originally started at 70 mph but it now happens at lower speeds

Anybody got any ideas

try doing a search on the forum??

especially around wheel bearings, propshaft and wheel balance..

check universal joints and sliding joints on propshafts for slop and wear.

In my experience the vibration is usually caused by the Land Rover. Try substituting a different vehicle, and you will very likely find things a lot smoother

I had a speed-specific vibration at around 50 mph which was getting worse, which seemed to be caused by a slack UJ on the front propshaft. On sorting this it has been a lot better.

As has been said - check all suspension, steering and drive train for wear ...

A process of elimination works best... even swopping tyres front to back is a good start ...

swivel pre-load is a fav too ...

HAVE FUN ...

Could be your flexible coupling on the rear prop

Ok so I looked and found the doughnut it well knackered but that was replaced five months ago

Can any body suggest why and were do you get a good one there's loads off them on ebay

Yes, you can get them from ebay suppliers.
Look for a supplier who is quoting that the item for sale is a genuine GKN part. The ballpark figure is about 40 quid; anything cheaper and it's likely to be of inferior quality.

Some ebay suppliers do use Britparts, so check carefully that the label on the blue bag shows "OEM" and the rubber doughnut carries the "GKN" logo.

your in leeds, four plus 4 on scott hall road do gkn donuts for 30 quid.
