Help ! I have a B Reg Landrover 90 200tdi, I have intermittent vibration problems. Seems to be happening when you dip the clutch to change gear to 3rd, when you bring the clutch back up there is a vibration coming through the vehicle, through the clutch pedal and steering wheel. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem.

Should think it will be one of yer prop shafts. Unless they have been greased adequately the UJ's would have seized and caused vibration. Probably whole vehicle vibrates thats why your feeling it through the steering wheel.

Go underneath and check for play in the uj's. Put handbrake on and twist props looking for play at the ends.

Thanks for that, but I did replace both prop shafts with heavy duty ones when I was fitting a lift kit. Definately not related to the lift kit as was happening before it was fitted and don't think it is prop related as new props 4 wks ago and as before was happening before they were replaced

Hi there Greg. Sounds like it's more engine revs than speed related. So first thing that springs to mind is the clutch. Could be the drive plate is out of square or summat. Is it simply clutch judder? If it is it's probably a matter of living with it till you need to replace the clutch.

I heard somebody say (on here?) that the front spring reached resonance at a certain time/revs and caused awfull vibrations, if all else fails check there. Engine mounts are worth checking as well.
