Morning all,
Now, I know that the fan on full blast in a Disco II can be a bit overwhelming at first but you get used to it after a couple of weeks.. however..
..Got in the car this morning, put the climate control to 21Deg and because it was quite chilly, the car (on Auto mode) put the fan speed up quite high once the engine was warming.
This is where I heard a really loud humming/buzzing noise alongside the fan sound. It really is loud, especially to be heard over the fan on full whack. I thought I'd found VTOL mode! If I turn the fan down manually to 1 or 2 bars on the display it goes away. But when I turn it up the buzzing/humming returns. The noise is coming from behind the dashboard, down towards the footwell (the sound seems to come out of the footwell vents, not the dash vents, if that makes sense?) It sounds like a bearing noise, or something trapped in the airflow?
Anyway, going to have to take a closer look this evening but does anyone have any general advice about accessing the heating system or whether in fact they have experienced this problem themselves? God, I hope it's not expensive
Thanks in advance.
