Hi

The vent selector on our '02 freelander has always been useless since we bought it 4 years ago. It defaults to the windscreen position so it's never been enough of an issue to really cause problems but I had a spare morning so thought I'd take a look.

The cable itself is fine but while it's connected correctly to the knob on the front panel the back end is floating, ie it's not connected to the actual vent selector behind the centre console.

The problem is that the cable sheath is meant to be attached to one of the vent sections, which it uses as a fulcrum to pull against the selector, there's a little moulded bracket that the sheath clips into - unfortunately the bracket has snapped off completely and there's no way of reattaching. I tried glue but it just wasn't strong enough.

I figured I might try to get hold of a replacement vent section but I've actually no idea how I should describe that part. Anyone any idea?

Thanks!
