Hi im just after a bit of adice i have just put on 2 new propshaft bearings and a new nose diff bush on a mk1 freelander diesel now the steering shudders quite badly and the whole prop seems to shake especially above 40 mph. A friend has advised i may not have lined up the ujs on the prop but they are only slightly out. Wondered if anyone had any other ideas gunna check it out again later this week when i get chance. Thanks :(

Hi assuming everything is tightened up and the propshaft uj's are not worn I would suggest slackening the prop bearing mounts slightly with the vehicle on the ground allowing the props to assume a better alignment and then retighten the prop bearing mounts. If there's no improvement after this you might try removing the bolts attaching the props to both the diff and IRD and rotate by 90 degrees before refitting and test driving.
Good luck.D..
