ive taken the plunge and im going to try veg oil in the tank. I know i can search for ratios etc, but i wondered if it would have any effect on the emisions test on my forthcoming DOE test?

I thought that but didnt want to say it;). Hopefully if i time the test right, the smell of chips might make the tester fly through the test to get home for dinner. Lidle, E1.35 a ltr.

Costco 76p/litre.
I'm using 50/50 now the weather has turned colder. Little puff of smoke when starting from cold other than that no problems. Did a 400 mile round trip up to Matlock last weekend with no dramas using a 50/50 mix. Took a couple of Jerrys with me and filled up in a truck stop on the way home.
Was using 75/25 during the summer. Not tried 100% yet - waiting for next spring for that.

Mine recently passed it's MOT running on 1/3rd veg oil. I was a little embarrassed at the chip shop smell when the tester opened the office door, but no comment was made!

mine passed 3 times running on majority veg, emissions were always very low. :D

Thats it then, im going to pop my veg oil cherry in the morning.( always better in the morning;)). E1.35 is the best so far ive seen over here, very high prices due to transport costs, i.e. diesel. ironic really.

If its 80p a litre at macro then it's worth it as I drove pay one on the way to work. At £1 a litre it starts to lose its appeal when it's mixed with diesel anyway so would make it about £1.20 per litre overall.

in the summer you can run virtually 100%, I used to chuck a bit of petrol in now and again for the hell of it. Even in the winter I would run 70% veg. makes a hell of a saving over a year.

I used to top up my 300tdi discovery up to about 50/50. I felt it was slightly quieter than diesel, as it was thicker but it might have been psychological.

The 20 litre container is quite heavy and you need a large funnel to avoid spillage.

I was always concerned in case I was spotted filling the tank on my drive as I live on a main road.
