Just re reading the forum for ‘knowledge’ etc as it’s been a while since I actually had a functioning ‘mobility scooter’(I.e. TD4)

Might have a VCU issue as when manoeuvring in a tighter location it feels as though things are ‘locking up’ when doing tight turns.. anyhoo have re read the VCU test and will attempt to replicate that when I get home.. (at work ATM)

Also the offside front brake calliper is still dragging/binding. So that needs ‘manipulating’ also..

Have been thinking about buying a set of front callipers as mine as wee bit corroded although completely okay in the function department just a ‘wee drag’ as mentioned… (also will be painting them a ‘conservative’ colour if I get them. Before I do that I need to shot blast the carriers and before that even get my blasting cabinet ‘back online’ as the air hose is not ‘the best’ at the moment..

Anyhoo small stuff to be getting on with..

Anyone recon’d their VCU without destroying everything that connects to it..

Might be getting a new VCU … 🤔🙄😵‍💫

Yes, I did it 2 years ago. 2 holes M8 thread, let the old juice out a couple of months, washed the interior with silicone thinner, refilled with 100.000Cst silicone from ebay. Cca 120g.
Total cost under 30 british pounds.
Time under 4-5 months.
Hint. Use inox caps, copper inbetween.

Advice:
1. Don't hurry
2. Threaded holes on the flat opposite faces, 180degrees oposed.
3. Don't hurry.
4. Use thinner for internal dillution.
5. Do not hurry.
I guess is more loose than original, but in snow and mud rear wheels have traction.
Good luck and be patient.

If the pistons move ok, it might just be the slide pins sticking ? Easily replaced & complete kit for about £10.
