3 months ago had 2 vcu bearings from barrette (land rover)
2month later 1 starts rumblings as under guarantee replace new one and the one that came off was rushy at just 2 months old. Now 300 miles later its making a rumblings again . Both times its the back one that goes.
Any ideas about this

Hi,

If the bearings keep failling, you have certainly have an issue, somewhere, can be the VCU, diff monts, uv joints, the IRD or the tires.

Are you sure you are mounting it (either on the shaft or bolts) straight?

Dunno if that's even possible to get out of alignment.

Yes you can mis-align them ( the prop). The only time I had trouble with early failure (of new ones) was with lack of grease in the bearings. I ended up prising both of the 2RS seals out of the replacemens (they had a token amount of grease in) & re-packing them with a good amount of waterproof grease. I recommend anyone replacing the VCU bearings re-packing them first.

Thank you all.
the first bearing from barrette the bearings where all rusty so much for land rover quality
