Any way to change a valve spring without taking the head off? I'm only changing one as a new engine is going in next month and just need it to last till then.

Thanks

yes if you turn that piston to tdc ,you can get lever tool to do it ,but we just used to press down with 2x screw driver

Thanks that method worked. Bit of a fiddle to put the new one in. In the end i put the new spring in a vice, compressed it then put cable ties round it then cut them out when it was in.

ill remember this one, does it mean you could do valve stem seals without taking the head off :D

Yes you can but as you have the old style flat not the hooded oil seals it is a waste of time fett
