Does anyone know what tool I need for replacing valve guides on a 2.25 petrol head?

Hammer and a drift. Freeze ur new ones and warm the head up when refitting em makes em easier to fit.

Ey now yer want the speshul tool or yer might distort the guide. It'll look like a pin punch where the smaller diameter is the same diameter as the valve stem, an the big diameter is the same size as the o/d of the guide. An if yer put the guides in the freezer fer a few days before you fit em they'll go in even easier.

cheers..where can i get the special tool and has it got a proper name..? or is it like the Special Stuff..

Just buy a pin punch and get someone wiv a lathe to wittle it to shape fer yer.

ok cheers. Anyone know if valve stem oil seals for a classic mini are the same size as 2.25 petrol ones?

cos I can't find any to buy on their own..have to get a full decoke set which I don't need

yu tight bugger - £6.35 from Paddocks.
aye that's the ****e i'm trying to avoid! last time I used ****part oil seals I had to get the head off again cos oil were ****ing through worse than it was with the old knackered seals. very poor! in fact I've had the same problem with nearly every BP part I've used

another possibly daft question: are the valve guides for intake & exhaust the same or different sizes?
