Hi All

I'm having trouble with no servo assistance for the brakes on my 300tdi..... Took out the servo valve and it seems fine (air only goes one way when you blow down it).... A short way down the vacuum pipe there's a T piece and a thin tube goes off somewhere down the back of the engine... This is loose (has a rubber sleeve on the end that should push onto something) not sure if it was loose before, and could therefore be the problem, or if I pulled it off something messing about with the main vacuum tube.
No mention of it in the Haynes manual.... Does anyone know what it does and where it should go so I can put it back?

Cheers

Thanks for that.... Do I presume that as I have removed the egr valve and blanked it off I can just block the pipe and ignore it??

It's normal for the pipe to go to the EGR modulator and for the pipe from the modulator that would have gone to the EGR valve to be blanked off. That is what I would do but to be honest I'm not sure of the pros and cons of either method.

Thanks again... I'm sure I blocked off the egr feed when I deleted it... Probably best to just hook the pipe back up to the actuator and disturb things as little as possible

Cheers
