So I did my vaccuum pump today.
Old one was leaking oil.
Strange thing is the plunger was not flat
I was dished out from wear I think.
Do I need to worry about the cam that did feel okay???

If the cam lobe was ok and the new pump and brakes are working I wouldn't worry about the cam as its obviously doing its job.

Thanks for your reply.
Cam lobe felt okay. Only changed it due to oil leak and tapping. Now I know the cause of the tapping!!
Only bought it in March so would a lack of oil cause it or maybe overheating. (had a cracked head)
Or is it 268000 miles that caused it maybe??

If it is the original pump and done 268k then I think it has had a good innings, a cracked head wouldn't affect the pump, low oil or lack of oil changes wont help things but I would have thought you would have other issues before the pump wore out.
