Hello everyone i own a 97 land rover discovery and i was just wondering what is the difference between the V8i and the normal v8 that i saw on the steets. My friend told me the difference is a supercharger but im not sure if it is correct. The rover that i own is a 3.9L V8i and makes a weird spinning noise when i accelerate. Is there a supercharger inside?

It means yours is injection and the others may be Carbs

3.5 3.9 4.0 4.2 5.0 all variants of the same buick based engine from the early 70's. Rover/TVR variants were as above CC's probably more aswell

Is it on LPG? The LPG system can make some strange noises under heavy acceleration.
