Can anyone help me locate the starter motor on my 2001 Disco V8 ?

Have you lost it?

It's on the driver's side of the engine, under an aluminium heat shield below the manifold at the back of the engine.

Yes I have lost it !!! will i be able to see it from above or will i have to get underneath ?

Look just to the rear of the drivers side exhaust manifold.

To see the motor you have to get underneath. The heat shield covers the whole of the top.

What is the problem?

Starter not turning , think its been a bad connection as i have stripped the connections and cleaned them , seems to be working now . Many thanks for your help
