I have converted my 90 V8 from carb engine to a range rover lucas efi 3.5 engine runs sweet except overheats. Radiator gets warm after switching off - but blows cold air through matrix. With pipe off matrix there is very little water coming through - is this likely to be pump or could it be thermostat stuck shut? I have replaced radiator with a new one (old one had a hole and killed my old carb lump). Is there anyway to test pump? If it is the pump would the pump from my old engine fit the range rover classic engine that i have now fitted?

Cheers for any help.

is the top hose warm after a run? if its cold then the stat is shut.

you need to bleed these engines up well by running it with the cap off untill its up to temp and stat open and water starts coming out the top the seal it and let it sit overnight , the vacuum when it cools should pull all the bubbles out- we hope.

Top hose is hot but doesnt feel pressured. Will pump from other engine fit just to make sure before I buy a new pump?

Cheers.

airlock?
Try bleeding coolant system with only heater matrix system bleed cap removed as this is the highest point in the system
