Hi. My 101 FC V8 engine stopped and oilpressure lamp was on. Checked pressure to 2,1 bar cold and 1,6 bar hot when ideling. Pressure rises when the rev´s is higher. So i guess it´s a oilpressure switch problem..
What is a reasonable oilpressure for my 3.5 standard V8??? In bar´s please.
It runs on 20/50 Duckhams!
Thanks!!

In my RRC book oil pressure at 2400rpm should be "around" 30 to 40psi thats 2.07 to 2.76 bars.

be aware head tipping on 3.5 v8 cooks oil but no increase on temperature gauge

If you get symptoms of a miss fire-stop.

when hot you can see valley bulge.

Also pressure relief plunger gets scored.
un screw blanking cap and remove spring and check plunger (scoring is sure sign of cooked oil)
(tadpole replacement available)

put Vaseline in grease gun or cake icing tool.

Disconnect king lead

squirt Vaseline at back of plunger hole, flick starter repeat (do 4 times)
refit relief valve assembly and king lead
Start and oil light should go straight out -if it doesn't repeat previous procedure as pump won't prime.

If it has tipped heads-when you get it done-outer row of bolts only to 25nm with thread lock as these cause the issue and were removed on later engines

get a cylinder loss test not compression test
