Hello again. Can any of you v-8 lads and lasses out there help me with identifying my latest buy, a series 88 leafer, no reg. Its the engine (obviously not original) that I would like to know more about esp. the output. Eng. no. 425151199. comp.ratio 10.5:1. Ithink its ex P6. but unsure of exact year. Crankshaft oil seal leaking badly and Ithink it will be be of the old pump gland packing type rather than a lip seal. Anybody know. Thanks.

they changed to lip in lat 72 I think

it will be p6 with that compression and on carbs its 155 bhp I think, maybe 160.

Most likely a p6, if you look at the back right of the engine behind the head you will see the comp ratio and I'd number (or by the dipstick tube depending which block it is)
once you have the number use this to find what engine you have
