Hi, I have an 87 3.5 110, I'm looking for a new/second hand distributor for it. It is the 2 pin version. Anybody have one they want to sell?
Thanks Daz

Not sure, the Landyt has been cutting out periodically for a few weeks, normally starts after a few minutes. Originally thought it was fuel problem, but this time when it cut out there was plenty of fuel and good pressure. Put a tester on one ofthe plugs and there was no spark when I tried to start it, changed the coil, put a new amplifier on the dizzy and still no spark, so assume the dizzy is knackered?

it is very rare for the internals to fail have you triereseting the air gap on the magnetic pick up? use a special brass feeler blade for this as a steel one can demagnatise them then you could have the problem you have got there is a set of tests to confirm the fault will mail it to you tonite

A piece of paper folded to double thickness works well.

Have you changed the dizzy cap and rotor arm? Have you put genuine Lucas parts on?

Check all your H.T.Leads. Good luck.

Something for you to check - are all your HT leads properly routed and not touching??

I've had something of a mystery misfire this week and I found that the No1 and No3 leads had come out of the clips and were touching. I also think the king lead was arcing so have made a temporary repair. It seemed fine coming to work after lunch which it wasn't on my way out to lunch if you see what I mean.

I also seem to remember seeing something somwhere that said you will have start/run problems if the ignition leads are not routed and clipped properly but more interestingly, there is a difference in the lead routing between 3.5 and 3.9 V8's.

Don't know if that will be your problem but ya never know.

Thanks for all the replies, I changed the leads, plugs, dizzy cap and rotor arm. None of it made any difference. So bit the bullet and bought a new Dizzy, problem sorted straight away. Only thing is brakes failed when I took it for a test drive, brake pipes corroded through, god knows why I drive Land Rovers and the missus fails to see the funny side !!!!
Cheers
