Hi all I have a 3.9 v8 discovery on a m plate its on lpg at the moment, I was wondering if it would drink any less fuel if I decat it and would it still run ok on lpg, has anyone done this can you help, thanks

Not sure (and please correct me if I'm wrong), but doesn't an M plate require cats by law?
(assuming your using on the public highway)

If this is the case, the MOT inspector will give ya a bollacking come next test

Say I'm not using it on s public road I no you need them by law , can anyone help me on the matter the I posted, thanks in advance

There's no law to say you need "cats" the engine just has to pass the applicable emissions test.

If you have a lpg system then you can go for the Mot but it must be tested on the fuel it is presented on
If your gas system is using the lambda sensors for the log then you can remove the cats but will need to keep the lambdas fitted and connected
If you do not need the lambdas then you can disconnect the lambdas and fit a non cat tune resister job done

Thanks. I had a lil search on the web.
Yeah, '92 onwards registered use CATS to help with stricter emissions test limits. Yep, there's no 'law' to say the vehicle has to have them, but its gonna be running fookin lean to get through the test...even on LPG without them

my daily driver is a late 92 RRC on CATS and LPG. love it n lovely n smooth and quiet.
my bobbed 90 RRC has a single cherrybomb n sounds the mutts nuts!.. its lumpy s fook but pulls really well. love it too.
Both very different motors...both have very different emisions test limits
