Hi, sorry for yet another engine conversion thread but Ive googled and searched the forums for info on converting v8 to diesel and all I can find is replacing one diesel for another.

Does anyone have a link to a suitable website or forum thread. Thanks

only the 6.2 gmc v8 diesel or bigger is acceptable here

Ok basically what im after is a list of required parts and potential problems to avoid. I need an engine and gearbox obviously, radiator but need a complete list if possible.
Oh and it would be a.300 tdi as im told they are slightly better ln mpg

Do your own bloody research! All the info is in that thread I posted, at least most of it, the rest is common sense or decided on the job. Buy a donor car then you've got everything...

I am doing my research and while I am grateful for the link to your thread it did not make a lot of sense for someone like me who has not tackled this type of thing before. I am not a mechanic of any sort and am forced to do the conversion purely for financial reasons which means I cant afford to pay a garage £500+ to do it for me. As I said I need a more step by step guide which I was not asking anyone here to provide, I was simply looking for a website or something I may have missed. For anyone in a similar position I have found this site which may be a good starting point.
