on the 3.5 EFI engine ive juts got hold off the alternator is on the righ and side and the pully does not line up with any other drive pullys. its the right alt im sure and its on the right bracket. ive seen some engines with the alt on the left as you look it but mine on the right. bit stummped ?

If the pully to front face dim is wrong - its the wrong alternator. I will pm you a contact when i get home.

All 3 of the 3.5efi's I've owned had alternators on the right (technically left, as the industry refers to L or R hand as ''viewed from the driver's seat'') but then all were sans aircon. I believe the alt. was on the other side if A/C was fitted but can't suggest why the pulleys don't line up, other than it's a case of bodging(?)

On aircon models the alternator sits on the right, as you look from the front, and it wont appear to line up with a pulley on the crank, as its not driven of it, there's an idler pulley around somewhere in the middle, and a short pulley from that to the alternator.....
If any of that makes any sense or is any use to you?!

it does not line up with any of the pully at all
What I meant was, if its a right hand mount alternator, and the idler pulley had been removed, then it wont line up with a pulley, cos it wont be there..... if you see what I mean.......

i do no what you mean and there is a pully there for it to send drive to which comes from the PAS pump. but does not line up

The alternator on the right hand side is driven by a belt off the power steering pump. The alternator is not directly driven off the crank, or at least that's how it is on my RRC.

yes thats the same as mine and iw has a small belt to it bit the alt pully wont line up. there is a brass spacer between the pully and the metal fan in the alt i might take that off and see what its like then
