Hi guys

i have recently replaced my 3.5 carbed v8 with a 3.9 hotwire injection engine, which was running fine

today i changed the plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm and it will not start at all,

it cranks over fine for a few seconds but seems to bog down and then crank over freely again:confused:

Any ideas?

thanks
Reuben

hi,
i put ngk groved electrode plugs in, i am fairly sure i put the leads on in the correct order, is there any way of being sure?
cheers
Reuben

ngk's should be OK.
yer heinz manwell should show you the firing order, so you can check the HT leads. failing that, someone posted it on here a couple of weeks ago - try a search.

Thats why you only do one plug at a time, then with the dizzy you swap the leads from old to new one at a time. A mistake you only ever make once ;) At least you didn't go to your local auto factors and 8 NGK plugs, then an hour later go back for just one more looking rather sheepish as you snapped one trying to get it into the tight space around the dipstick
