hi, have the M.A.F. checked 1st either put it on diagnostics or if you know anyone with same engine see if you can put his on yours then try starting it if its running fine then you've got the answer !!!!!! then clean yours very gently on the very thin sensor strands using cotton wools buds dipped in meths or nail varnish remover !!!! then either air dry it before re-fitting ,,, the whole procedure takes about 10 mins and worked for me so its a cheap fix ,, then sensors do get clogged up with the ****ty petrol and gas that is abundant in certain areas ,, P.S. the nail varnish is my wifes honest ????????:D:D ha ha anyway let us know how you get on ,and to the others it is possible to start straight onto gas its happened to me a few times till it was rectified by a full lpg service and new vapourisor ,,besr regards MOZZ:crazy_driver::crazy_driver::crazy_driver:

Just ordered MAF sensor of ebay brand new £17 quid rather than cleaning

**whispering**

If it is a common thing, mine is a rare one - only starting issue I have had was when the Fuel pump went south and the temp gauge went off scale due to a water pump leak!

Maf sensor still has not solved problem ,,, still taking 10 secs to fire on occasions usually when engine warm

A £17 Ebay MAF didn't solve the issue???

Are you sure it is a good one, decent, of OEM build or of OEM quality....as Datatek says Cheap MAF's rarely last/work/give good results....

Have you checked fuel pressure...it could be fuel pump or regulator causing issues...or even a dodgy ECU Temp Sensor giving false info to the ECU which in turn is giving duff fueling information....

As I say the only two issues I have had (so far) are duff fuel pump causing no start....and also when the water pump went south causing an ECU to think the engine temp was either to hot or too cold meaning it struggled to start...(luckily it wasn't overheating sa I had only had the engine running for 2 minutes when it went pearshaped!)
