All,
It all started some months ago, Mick my mechanic friend had a v6 2.5 freelander boiling water constantly.
over a few weeks the rear Head and gasket were replaced.Radiator drained and flushed and still the water was boiling and the temperature of the top hose and radiator remained low.
Using my freelander as a test to check the temperature we found that my freelander was hot and cold in exactly the same places.

After searching and reading on here,
We removed as much a possible of the actual thermostat in the old housing unit and the effect was amazing the radiator actually got hot as did all the hoses. The freelander does not and has not boiled over since.

After a month or so we did the same to my freelander also replacing the cam belts and tensioner, Mick doing most of the work. My radiator now gets hot the temp guage is a little slow in raising but all in all a success.
Hopefully no overheating problems in the future.
thank you for the info.
Dean
