So my wife went to lakeside and on trying to leave the multi story, the 04 TD4 auto refused to start.......

the recovery bloke towed it to her mums where I sit now on this puter!!

My thoughts were that it is/was the rear wheel arch fuel pump, but as the battery was nearly dead, the father in law has just connected a booster charger thing and when the missus sits in it and attempts to turn it over while I give it a judicious whack on the pump, the car turns over once or twice then stops turning.......it won't just keep on turning over....
I have now dissconnected the battery for 5 mins or so while I type this and am going to attempt it again in a minute.....unless you Gods of LR knowledge know otherwise?????

Sounds like your batterys knackered!!

Battery was shot where she had been spinning it over to no avail.... I got it hitched to some jump leads and my father in law's car and persuaded the pump with a mild malletting...... Job done. I'll get a pump ordered up though and a new fuel filter.....
