I am looking for standard hight uprated springs and shocks for my 93 defender 110 station wagon. i'v heard bad reports about britpart suspention, any ideas where I could get decent suspension. Or if I fit a lift kit do I have to change any of the othes standard parts. ZZZ

Land rover genuine springs are good and the original shocks are armstrongs, cheap as owt on ebay.

I've got terrafirma they have a really thick shaft on the shocks and you can get different springs depending on how much weight you carry. They are quality and not too bad £230 delivered for a full set of 2" lift.

As for mods you need for a 2" lift you don't actually 'need' anything however expect your steering to be put out and most bushes to be worn out more quickly. When I fitted my kit I polybushed throughout at the same time. I also changed my front radius arms to 3 degree castor corrected to shore up the steering. You can get cranked trailing arms as well. I also did my ball joints on my steering and fitted an uprated damper to keep it all tight at the front end. I think thats it for my lift. The last thing you can do get wide angle or double cardon prop shafts but these are very expensive and it would probably be cheaper to just make sure the ones you have are greased and replace them if go.

One more thing when you fit your suspension lift or even new prings remember to undo all the bolts holding on the radius arms, trailing etc and redo them as the new springs even standard will sit in a different position. This will help take some pressure off them.

Oh yea there are other thing out there if you want to go really extreme such as dislocation cones, vortex bushes, adjustable pan hard rods and gas adjustable suspension what are you using your landy for?
