It is possible that the present bulbs just want changing .There are also plenty of options available from any auto factors,some I believe give an increase of 50%.
The crystal headlamps from Paddocks with some white bulbs from Halfords are excellent, they give out great white light and look good into the bargain. £40 all in.

The headlamps arn't the best on classics,getting them aligned properly can help.
