How does this locking nut work on my 200 tdi pump?
I would like to free it up before I put the wings etc back so as I have the option of reducing or upping the fuel
Thanks:)

Search/google bocsh ve pump tuning, there is literally tons of info out there.

Done a few cars and my first 200 tdi but this one is different in the way the screw locks I think, thought I would ask before I started undooing stuff:)

Just had a thought.....is that a security thing that needs to be broken off so as I can get at the locking nut?

Going to tweak diaphragm a little first now and see how she goes:)

screw has an anti tamper plastic sleeve on it, which can be snapped off to allow adjustment

Should have guessed that shouldn't I ?

Thought that was a strange shaped nut, haven't touched it yet, just in case I need to adjust it. Most engines I have tweaked a little have used less fuel and been more responsive, hope this is the same:)

i had diesel bob do mine, goes well, and no excessive smoke. he used that screw to make adjustments, when i had the pump re built

Small adjustments can make a lot of difference either to stop smoke or give a little more grunt low down, I'll see how it goes when I eventually get it on the road:)

Under the plastic there is normally a spot welded stainless collar, most people will tell you this needs to be chiselled off, it doesnt.
