The Upper link or A frame...

Aframebushes006.jpg

Usin' poly bushes.
Quite an easy job to do really.
( If ye have the OEM bushes then ye'll need to burn the rubber out and then haksaw the metal sleeve to remove it, or use a big press.)
In my case the Upper link/ A frame I was usin' had been fitted with the Polybush kit so wasn't too bad to do.

Here's how ah did it..
First ah removed the split pin from the ball joint...

and removed the big nut...

next ah removed the two bolts from the arms to ball joint fulcrum....

Then went to the other end of the arms and undid the big bolts that go through the bushes....

(had a bit of trouble getting the bolts out so removed the bracket from the chassis along with the arms. Much easier)

This is a piccy of the A frame out....

Ah then used a suitable sized bolt tae knock out the metal sleeve from the old bush....

then usin' a screwdriver ah popped the old bushes out...

At this point ah had taken the A frame off the white bus and tarted it up a bit...

then ah started refittin' the bushes. Ah smeared some grease in the hole...

Aframebushes016.jpg

then stuck one 1/2 of te bush in, flipped it over, greased the metal sleeve and stuck that in ( a vice might be handy at this stage)....

next ah fitted to the arm to the bracket and bolted it up loosely....

Just a piccy of the old and new frames before going in...

Refitting..

First ah bolted the bracket and arms back onto the chassis...

Aframebushes024.jpg

Attached the arms back onto the ball joint fulcrum and stuck the castle nut back on the ball joint.....

Aframebushes025.jpg

( had a wee bit trouble getting the ball joint to go back in straight so ah jacked up the nose of the diff just enough for the ball joint to go in)...

Aframebushes027.jpg

Torqued everything up, stuck a new split pin back in and that's about it...

Job done ;) :D
