Hi all
I have owned a freelander 1 td4 03reg for six years and i have enjoyed having it and also getting my hand dirty sorting it but we are giing to sell her and fancy getting the freelander 2 but i am not sure if the fl2 is as good or better than the mk1 and was hoping to that some of you would cast your experiences working on them and driving them and what to look out for when buying one.
Cheers kevin

We have one of each.

SWMBO's is a 2009MY 2.2 TD4 HSE Automatic mine is a 2006 TD4 HSE Manual.

I find the FL2 to be great to drive, very responsive and a bit heavy on fuel. I quite like getting back into mine. It feels more like home iykwim.

I changed from FL1 to FL2 a few years back and whilst it was a lovely car to drive (but a bit thirsty), I have moved back to FL1...

Two main reasons - first as there are loads of computers onboard, the amount of work that could be done at home without plugging it into a laptop was getting smaller, and secondly, it just felt (to me) like a comfortable car and not like a LR.

Just IMHO...

I have a 2001 Freelander and have been on a LR experience day with a Freelander 2 (and disco 4) driving on and oft road. The Freelander 2 is more comfortable to ride in and more stable at speed. All round it's a betterer vehicle than the Freelander 1. Average reliability is betterer too.
