It's been done. I think there's quite a lot of wiring involved though, and probably some module programming too.
It's probably just easier to trade you GS for the much better spec HSE model.

thanks just thought the wiring was in place and only a matter of connecting everything up, might just upgrade to normal leather seats and trade in for hse as i didn't pay much for the car

I'm not 100% sure, but in my experience, high spec wiring isn't always in place. Even if the wiring is in place, the BCU (Body Control Unit) would need to be told that power seats were fitted. Modern vehicles use extremely complex control modules, which need to know what is and what isn't fitted, or power doesn't go to where it's needed.
