Hey all,

The aftermarket CD player in my 2001 D2 has given up the ghost.

thinking that maybe something more upto date that I can play Spotify through via Bluetooth could be some added luxury lol.

anyone make any suggestions? It’s the pre facelift dash so only one slot.

thanks in advance

Hi Mike, when I get my rear chassis quarter done, wheel bearing, front suspension turrets etc I'm going to fit one of the single DIN units Pioneer or Sony with 6 or 7 inch screen. You can get all the interfaces to connect to the amp & steering wheel controls (as I've done in my FL1). Not sure if that type of set up floats your boat but I do like using it in my FL1 especially for the Google maps. Pic of my FL.

Problem is I’m a technophobe and ain’t got the foggiest what to do with kind of stuff.

will the cables/connectors go straight into something like that?

Yes the whole lot is plug & play you just need a DAB aerial (I already fitted that when the roof lining was out).
The FL was a double DIN unit but the steering wheel controls are the same in the D2 & FL so it all just plugged together. You can't use the 6 changer CD unit, again D2 & FL have a the same systems, but I put all my CD music on a USB stick & leave it plugged into the headunit & select that if there's nothing on the radio I want to listen to. Pics of the interface leads.
