Ok here goes ... lol ...... I dont want to start a war, but im probably going to anyway lol

This forum is for owners of landrovers, I have got that bit...

But

There seems to be so much errm 'friction' between the people who own different models ... ha ha

Im soooo gonna get shot here lol

Now then what i want to know is ... are the true 'rough n ready' out & out Landy 4x4 guys really that peeeed off that landrover made 4x4's suitable for general road?

I need to understand the reason for slating all the other models.... there must be a reason for all the name calling of the various models ...

Please tell me all about it lol lol There must be some history behind all this ..

 guess yer a "gaylander" driver then ?

See !!! ...................lol ......

I have only just bought one & I love it ...... Im trying to understand all the beef lol lol

Ha ha at the popcorn .... This may be quite a show lol

Basically gaylanders are the runt landrovers, they just suck……. can't go offroad and aren't that practical as they never have any doors

Around here everyone takes the **** out of everyone else, although to be fair Gaylander drivers do sometimes receive more than most. This may also be because a lot seem to take it personally, and to heart, and sulk, which is like a red rag to a bull:doh::doh:. If they possess a sense of humour they will receive help and advice if they ask for it and can become valued members. Hippo for example is an honorary Tratter driver and regularly keeps people amused with tall tales of his doors staying on after he's driven through a puddle:p:p:p:D;););)

Well .... I am more than happy with mine ........ i love it ...

This weekend the Mr is going to bling it up for me ha ha ...

So all the Def & Discos will hate me forever lol

Ps: Do they spit on FL's on their way by ??? ......

If so I need to get a fitted tissue box, do the MD's sell them ?? :D:D:D

If you drive a defender you are a rufty tufty tratter driver, If yer a freelander driver yer a hairdresser and have special comartments for yer curling tongs, If yer a rangie driver yer either a snob or a chav, if yer a disco driver yer either swing both ways cos you couldn't decide on what to get or yer a wannabe tratter driver cos you couldn't afford a defender. If yer a series driver you think that all landys with coil springs are just plain wrong.

We may take the mickey out of each other for the type of vehicle we or others on this forum drive but at the end of the day it's all harmless fun.

It's generally only when newbies come along and take what is being said as being vindictive that problems accur. It can also go too far when every cry for help in the gayl......erm.....freelander section gets the reply of 'burn it'.

Everyone has their personal view on what they do and don't like and tales of horror for each model of vehicle. Just chill out and don't take anything to heart.

Mickey taking? Friction? Beef? **** taking?

Nah, no chance, I did hear a rumour about the doors on a certain model that seem to fall off when wet but that's all ;)

just look at the Land Rover history.

why is Land Rover known? what made the brand? why did Land Rover survived all these years with a model that has hardly changed?

think about it.

Now think about Rolls Royce.. why are they such a big name? what has made the brand?
can you imagine rolls bringing out a family hatchback that cost £15K?? or similar?

naaa... i dont think so.

Land Rover were built for a reason, to be work horses.

Land Rover will realise their mistake once the sales of the new Defender be ****e... no farmer is going to buy one of those. actually, I think no one that currently has a defender will buy one of the new ones.

Good for us though, because the rough and ready Defender, will just go up in price :D

Its a bit fun, all Landrover owners are welcome on Landy Zone, dont take it too serious, the wrapping has come loose on a few of the contributors but this talk about Freelander owners being gay is nonsense...but I wouldn't bend down to pick up the soap in a communal shower if there was one near me.

I had a D2 freelander for about 6mths, and over winter it was great in the snow, certainly more capable than most cars. But then bought a Disco 2 03 plate for £5k which was a bargain and never looked back, in snow ive pulled council wagons up the street and even considered helping a 18 wheeler stuck on a slight incline opposite a fire station but thought about my clutch which was showing signs of going (which it did 2 mths later).

Wouldnt have another FL but thats only cos ive been spoiled with a disco 2 :p
