As per the title ,err Indoors is putting pressure on me to sell my 90 truck cab as she hates driving the Landy and always complaining about the lack of heat from heater. It's got a td5 lump and it does run cool. She wants me to get a Japanese truck, but I can't see a Japanese truck holding its value like our Defenders, might be cheaper to change the girlfriend.

Yep, just sack the girlfriend (by text of course because that's apparently the way to roll nowadays).
It's close to Christmas now anyway so you could save some money by not having to buy her a present. You could then use that money to sort the heater issue and tell her what you've done with what was her Xmas money.

Nice one dieseldog liking the look of that heater will take a closer look,is there any thing that can be done to improve the td5s habit of running cool.Really don't want to go Japanese too many sensors and electrickery gubbins plus the depreciation.

Thought truck cabs were warm? I've even thought of fitting a roller blind type arrangement to my 90, behind the front seats, to try and keep the heat in the front
Presume you've checked the stat.

If you scrap the viscous fan and put twin electric ones in that run off a stat, they'll only come on when engine is up to temp, amd engine will get up to temp quicker that way.

Also, there is a pre heater type thing you can get that plumbs into the coolant pipes and you can switch it on half hour or so before you start her up, so its all warm and almost up temp before you even turn the key! My boss had one in his old 110 td, cant for the life of me remember the make, I think they are more popular in colder climates but well worth it if you struggle with the cold.

My commute has been cut in half so I only have 6-7 miles to drive, she only gets up to temp 3/4 of the way there so I'm looking at something similar! She's fine on longer runs, and my viscous fan isn't in the best of health either!

Fit a working thermostat, your's must be stuck open and while you're in there back flush your heater matrix and replace the foam gaskets.

No point going Jap for heating, you should at least let her wear more than a thong and nipple tassles when she's in there though ;)

Is this her from last weeks groceries shopping in Shrewsbury?

I fitted a doubled up clear shower curtain on mine, I think it helps :D
