ok, it sounds like a bit of a silly question, but ive not done any work on landy before so starting with the basics.

i'm thinking its a standard 2.0 deisel, but ive got a feeling this series 2 has had a lot of work in the past.

am not sure myself as I've never seen a series engine shock! :eek:

But just for reference they were fitted with a 2.25 litre cylinder capacity motor.

If it's really a Series II (as distinct from a IIA) then Trev's right, the original diesel was a 2 litre.

I agree with the others, 2.5, probably from a Sherpa.
 
i would say it was a 2.5 diesel ldv engine you can tell because the injector pump is mounted lower than on the land rover fitted engine also the air cleaner is different yours is a ldv sherpa engine
