Can anybody recommend a make, source and price of tyres??
I'm looking to replace the weakeing sidewalled Goodyears with something . . .
better.

Size 255/60/18

I have some bf goodrich macadams on my old disco and they work very well. Alas, they don't seem to do 18's

fit BFGs if they do them in girly 18"s or fit some manly 16" wheels and get a better selection and a better price

Or Khumo's for a fraction of the price and better tyres.

General grabber AT2 tyres are almost identical to the BFG AT tyres and are available in your size about £90 fitted

I have STRs on mine ,they have been good over the last year but i have been told that the ATR tyre is even better.

Researched on here, read the comments/recommendations and plumped for the Avon Ranger.
Fitted 4x Avon Rangers to my R/R on 16" rims at £100 per corner.
Moved away from the chewed up Goodyears and blimey what a difference.
The Goodyears were so bad I thought I had severe steering issues, put on the Avons and what a transformation - firmer, positive, stable ride - fantastic...
They are available in 18's if this helps..
