Evening Folks ,

looking at replacing the tyres on the 2004 Hippo.

235 50 R18 am wanting something with a good chunky thread and not at a silly price.

Any recommendations / links would be much appreciate.

TIA

There's very little available in 235/50/r18, as it's a road size. However the FL1 will take a 235/55/r18 which does have some AT tyres available.
Unfortunately nothing in 18" is cheap.
Cooper Discoverer ATT are available in a 235/55/r18 at £160ea, but they last well.

Michelin Latitude Cross are also available in 235/55/r18 and are also around £150 each from the likes of Black Circles.
There are lots of tyres to choose from on the Black Circles website, some more AT than others, take a look.

Cheers Nodge , will that not rub etc or put strain on the VCU ?
235/55/r18 fit without rubbing, given about 6mm of clearance to the spring cups.
Having new tyres all round is better for the VCU than having worn or odd tyres fitted.

I've got a set of 5 chunkys done hardly no milage on 16 rims if your interested they'll come with the spacers

Out here in Spain I fitted Kleber Citilanders, 235/50/r18 and have been impressed so far. Kleber is the budget arm of Michelin and the Citilanders have an asymmetrical tread pattern like the Latitude Cross. IIRC, I paid around 135 euros per tyre.
