Okay guys & gals seeking some advice and saying hello........

Just bought a 2004 TD4 HSE for my (better) half that had a bit of a pull when driving. Put it down to soft tyres (they were soft). Sorted the pressures and, while much improved, there's still a slight tug to the left.
Had the tracking checked and it seems fine (looking over the kwik fit numbskulls shoulder and reading his charts).
Front tyre on passenger side is scrubbed on inside edge, other seems even but has some tyre wall damage.

Soooo going to replace the front tyres but what with? She will only use it on road. Many brands about but which would you recommend as worthwhile - want a decent set rather than budget.

It sits on 225/55/17

And finally any common faults with tracking or steering/suspension set up I should wonder about? Also how much influence do rear driven wheels have on steering for Freelanders?

Open to any helpful and useful suggestions!

yer got tracking on the rear on the gaylander, but that wont give you your problem ,could be that tracking has been out a bit and too low a pressure by other owners, its always best to keep same type all round, they say worse worn to the front [fronts always wear first] but to be honest i swap mine as soon as i see wear [to even up] and have never had a problem. . . . . . . . . . .:)

did you check that it has not had a wallop on the front or anything nasty like that.

LoL

Yep did have a good check and nothing to show a bang of any sort. Took the chance while Kwik Fit had it up on ramp to double check........if it's had a bang it ain't showing! Also nothing recorded on HPI

Had a quick look for Synchrone's but not finding much. Someone suggested Kumho.........anybody use anything other than the elusive Michellins?

Had some Wrangler ap tyres on last time that lasted 30,000 (towing as well) they were nice and sticky. Just put some continental 4x4 on in January ( all 4 replaced balanced and tracked £359, tyres were £270 of this ) their not as sticky as the wranglers but are ok generaly and towing. On the tracking, ours gets tracked every year at least, it always ends up pulling to the left.

Hello..
Just took my freelander in for Digital tracking yesterday,..Pulling to the left..
All the lock bolts on the Track Rod ends broke and on the Track Rods,.Aaaarrrggghhh!!
Ordered Full set for both sides £160 from Dealer (couldn't get them anywhere else)..

But the tracking is a mile out according to thier diagram...Fitting new ones tomorrow,.Then get tracking done.......
