I've just had fitted by a company(no names yet) some 285/75/16 as recommended by the tyre company on steel modulars. I was running 33 12.5. 15's before and been told they were hard to get hold of so i decided to go with the alternative with new wheels. That was saturday. They put them on 16x8 modulars but they were no where near as offset as my previous wheels. Pulled away and tyre hit exhaust. Bloke said he'd never seen that before so I moved it over and left the fitter. Next problem when I got home was the steering. Tyres were catching on radius arm. Thought this was a bit funny but adjusted how far it turned but there wasn't enough adjustment. Quick fix took bolts out and got a mate to weld another nut on each bolt. Next problem went greenlaning today and tyres hitting exhaust again.I believe he has sold me the wrong wheels with not enough offset. Maybe 4 inches from wheel nuts to front. I need to know if you believe I've got the wrong wheels and what I should be using. I'm obviously very disappointed in what I've been sold and i was told ther wouldn't be any problems.advice and help needed.

What offset are the wheels? Should be stamped on there somwhere? et? You got any photos?

Think he wrote 165/50 on receipt.ill have to look when its light but theres more on the back of the rim than the front.

165/50 isnt an offset. You need to look for the offset on the wheels. You can then work out how big spacers you need or take it back and ask for the correct offset wheels.

wots the point in that you already have 16x8 modulars:doh:
and yours are 285/75/16 and you have a lift already, cant see where your goin with your line of thought there

Those wheels don't require any spacers as they are offset enough to give full steering. The ones I've been sold don't look anything like that. Thats the point!! Maybe you don't understand what I'm trying to achieve.

I've supposedly been sold 16x8 modulars but they don't look anything like the picture I sent a link of.mine are no where as big an offset as those. Does that mean I haven't got what I'm meant to have. Receipt says16x8 modular 5x165(landrover).you may be getting ****ed off but Im just trying to get as much information as possible.

Hi Ferrar,

those rims in the pic posted look to be extremely offset. Modulars Plus 8mm are these:

Most offsets are upto +25mm offset. Anything more like the ones in your pic seem to be deep dish ones. I'm working on a couple of rims at the moment but nothing like the offset you need pics here:
