Is it normal to get tyre squeal on the inside wheel when turn right around a roundabout.

jack up one front wheel and check viscous coupling should turn stiffly and smoothly if wheel wont turn replace coupling cab be done with t/box in situ

speed anywhere above 10mph, it does sound like its coming from the back rather than the front but I will pop it into neutral, jack it up and check the coupling.

doesnt need to be in neutral with it done on front wheel its also means you can leave hand brake on ,the wheel with least weight / grip will slip so would be rear drivers wheel on roundabout

sorry for interupting
would this cause the rear tires to wear faster than the front?

Agree sounds like duff V-C unit. You can take off one (front) prop and run around like that until you`re ready to fit new one. As jamesmartin said can be done in situ, about 3 or 4 hours (for us amateurs), and part was about £325 from island4x4 when I did mine. Good set axle stands, torque wrench, and liquid gasket needed. Suggest new prop lock nuts too.

Today I did the VC test in the way that was suggested driving doughnuts in a car park similar to how you would test a Freelander and there was no problem.
But my rear tyres are near the end of their life and I would be changing them before the mot in november so I wonder if it is a case of these being a different size enough to cause them to slip more.
Or am I still best advised to do the wheel off the ground test

jack front wheel up and use big bar driving doughnuts aint good test, even though rr is equal 4wd 4 equal tyres are best
