Hi,

I recently got a defender which came with 235/85 16 tyres mounted on 16x7 steel wheel presumably from a Disco?

Anyway my question is will these larger tyres cause my speedo reading to be out slightly? if not what will?

Cheers, Happy New Year

sure they are 65's ?

Alright people CALM DOWN (I am new to forums)!!

I have done some research MYSELF and found my speed to be 70mph with 190/100 16 (original tyre size???) and my new tyres 235/85 16 are 70.83mph.

So when travelling at 70mph I am actually travelling at 70.83mph-1mph over what my speedo actually reads.

190/100's fooking hell where did yer get them from? are yer sure they weren't 7.50" 16's

and you coonts need to research yer research FFS. 190/100/16 is (as I said) 7.50/16 crossplys. which were never made in Metric sizes. yer fooking morons.

radials only goto about 85% of the tyre width, so a 285/65 is 65% of 285mm. + the Rim size in this case 16".
