Hello guys & girls,
I have a Defender 110 with 16x7.5 Boost alloys. I would like to hear your suggestions on which tyre sizes I could fit to achieve a more aggressive stance. Currently I have 235/80/16 tyres but they look skinny in comparison to some of the defenders in the area. I would like a wider tyre to give me the look that I am after. Also would I require spacers?
Many thanks in advance.

yeah my 90 looks loads more imposing when it has its winter / shooting season boots on

Insa Turbo's 265 on 16 inch rims.

Am in a similar dilemma with my newly bought 110 project which has standard rims on it from 1995

I personally think if you get the right offset on the rims you don't need spacers.

My insa rims touch the radius arms on full lock, just don't use full lock unless tucked up in the corner of some wet muddy field

Got a photo of what it looks like at the moment?

235/80 is broadly similar to the 7.50x16 tyre (iirc) and the size a defender was designed to run - which is a tall and skinny tyre and is excellent for ground clearance and mud work (skinny cuts through) overall it’s a9 inch wide tyre (if my maths is right) so a 265/75 is a ten inch wide tyre so you could go up a size like that for more width but the diameter would be about the same (31inches)

Or you could go for 9.00x16 which is a 12 inch wide 35inch tall tyre - some landrovers came with these as standard fit.

dependa what you use it for tbh, just achieving ‘looks’ often compromises some performance (and vica versa)

Good luck finding them at a decent price!...just steer clear of bargrips and old stock michellins...portugese camac are producing them again...
