What should the tyre pressures be on a 110 station wagon, for ordinary road use?

Currently, from the dealers, ours reads...40 psi rear tyres and 30 psi front tyres. Tag details on The Pillar say 48 40.

My 110 is shod with bfg at's size 235/85 16. Fronts at 38 psi, rear at 42 - I can't remember the source, but I'm sure these are the recommended pressures from bfg.

Edit: if in any doubt do a chalk contact check.

I run mine at 28 front and 48 rear. I got those from the land rover PDF. I use 235/85/R16 toyo open country mud

Cover the surface of the tyre in chalk, then roll forward on some nice dark tarmac & check the resultant tyre chalk print. Adjust pressures & repeat.

You can just draw chalk line across the width of the tyre, roll it a few times and see where it rubs off first rather than trying to make big pretty prints on the tarmac :p
