I have recently purchased a refurbished 1968 Land Rover Series IIa 88" (Diesel). From previous experience I know that the steering on a Land Rover of this age will drift a little, but this is significant suggesting incorrect tyre pressures. Can anyone please tell me the correct pressures for this vehicle.

Thanks

25lb front, 25lb rear
over 250kg load in rear 25lb front, 30lb rear
emergency soft i.e. sand or mud 15lb all round.
It wanders around a bit because of the play in the steering, suspension and the fact that the tyres are a very high profile but most of all it's because it's a Landy.

Many thanks, although I once owned a 1961 Series 2 I am still a little nieve about these things. I am sure the tyres a set higher then this. I will test in the morning.

if they are too high the tyre will be running on the centre of the tread only, which would give you a smaller contact patch and certainly increase its wandering around.
