Help!
I've just bought a set of 4 lovely steels with great off road tyres for my Disco 200. They're LT255/85 R16 and they're TOO BIG!
Can't believe I've been such a Tw*t.
Does anyone know if there's a way of fitting these without chopping my arches to bits? Or do I just have to bite the bullit and flog 'em on?

Just for the record.....what is th biggest tyres i can squeeze on 16inchers on a standard Disco?

All suggestions welcome..........

Perhaps someone wants to swap them for a set of 235/70 16 's

well if you don't ask!...

Hi Colin,

The tyres are 'Cooper Discoverer STT Radials'
They have done about 20 miles! and are in new condition. They've been sitting in a shed for the last 6 months waiting for me to come along and waste my money on them!
I paid £250 for the set and you can have them for that, unless you've got something to swap! (after all I still need a set of decent off road boots!) i guess i could sell the tyres alone but I'd want £200 for them as I'd have to pay to get them off the rims.
I live in Biggleswade which is in mid Bedfordshire......

Cheers
Giles

The original should be 235-70-16. You can get away with 245-75-16 which would be taller but not too tall.

255-85-16... WOW. I doubt you would even get that tire (tyre) under the disco with a 2 inch lift.

I have a 98 Disco (16 inch rims) with a 2 inch lift. I run 235-85-16's and still touched a little on rear fender. First big bump fixed that problem! Rear tire (tyre) clears just fine now. :)
